I was watching TV today with a few friends and I have been noticing all the new advertisements that describe how bad smoking and chewing is for you, that have been all over TV lately. These people put disgusting pictures on TV to try to show you what tobacco will do to someone over time if theyre a constant user. The last one I saw was the one where the doctor is about to cut someones infected leg off bacause the guy used to smoke. These commercials make me wonder if these advertisements really stop people from lighting up or putting a dip in. I do know one thing for sure though, a friend of mine surely wasn't affected by the commercials on TV. After three years of constantly ripping through chewing tobacco tins, he finally had enough to create his dream. To make a replica of Lord Stanley himself, the Stanley Cup. As me and a few of my roommates sat around and drank a thirty pack, he began the long process of laying out the foundation for stanley on a board we found and began to glue hundreds of tins together. Thinking about it now, I really have no idea as to why we all sat around on a Saturday night and watched him glue tins together but we just did..Gettinig back to what I was saying, it always seemed impossible to do, but after a while the cup began to take shape. It took many long hours to finish, but in the end it came out very nice and now is a nice addition to the living room of our house..I wish I could put a picture of it on here to show everyone..
Also, to anyone who thinks that I am trying to make smoking, chewing and drinking look cool I'm not. And I do not think smoking or chewing is good ; however I do think making a replica of the Stanley Cup out of tins is.
