i guess college kids dont sleep enough
I think the adequate number of sleep hours per night is around eight. I guess college kids dont get enough sleep, because as i sit in my morning class, ( which begins at 10:20) everyone seems to be still sleeping, and in some cases the students are sleeping! Some students simply walk into the class, put their head down on the desk and are asleep before the professor begins teaching a class. The professor must have caught on today because about midway through the class, as he was drawing diagrams on the board that everyone was supposed to be copying in their notebooks, he walked around the room to look and make sure everyone was staying on task. As the professor was walking around the room, he tapped some kids on the head to wake them up and get them back to reality for a few minutes. As I see this I wonder how the professor feels as he or she is trying to teach a class and turns around expecting everyone to be attentive and catches some kids sleeping? I know I have never fallen asleep in class, maybe because I need it to be completely silent and dark... but one of my roommates can fall asleep in class without a problem at all. What should professors do to a student who is always sleeping in class?....lower his grades, throw the student out of class...who knows...Anyway, a student is paying good money to come to college and get an education and sleeping through a class isnt a good way to be educated, nor a good way to prepare for an upcoming exam...is it?
