Superbike Racing News

I decided to take a class on writing about sports because I have always played, and have been a fan of sports. I am a fan of the AMA Superbike series and this year Miller Motorsports park in Utah has announced that it will host the world championship for FIM Superbike in 2008. It's been three years since this has happened in America, and this event will be the biggest racing event in Utah state history. This race is part of the Honda Summit of Speed and will take place June 1, 2008. I am sure this event will bring about more fans of the superbike sport in America...I know it will create many new fans from Utah at least.

The AMA Superstock series will continue this week (August 31-Sept 2), where the Lockhart Philips USA Formula Extreme and the Dynojet AMA race titles are both on the line at Road Atlanta. The race is called "Rockstar Suzuki Superbike Showdown." A crowd favorite still riding for team Honda, Josh Hayes, is seeking his second consecutive Formula Extreme title at Road Atlanta. Many people believed Hayes would have a trouble free, easy season but problems early in the year at Daytona put that idea up in the air. After the incident at Daytona Hayes came back and won four strait races and recently has stated that his bike is running great and hes never raced better. Hayes and his crew seem to be well prepared for this race and plan on celebrating another strong Hayes finish.

The superstock rider Ben Spies will certainly have a more difficult time than his fellow competitor Hayes. Many believe that Spies has been experiencing tough competition from team Yamaha, led by Ben Bostrom and also from Suzukis team leader Aaron Yates. This thought baffles me because Spies has won six of the last seven races in the Superstock division. Maybe some thought is on Yates because Road Atlanta is his home track, and Yates has brought the Jordan Suzuki team a new life in the Superbike and Superstock classes, he also took a big win this season in Birmingham Alabama which gave team Jordan their first National victory in the AMA.

Maybe even the Cortland, NY native Charles Coleman will win a race soon...we'll have to wait and see on that i suppose.

The Road Atlanta Formula Extreme and Superstock races will surely be an exciting event this weekend in Atlanta.
